Pre-Pregnancy Care

Pre-Pregnancy Care

Many women believe that pre-natal care begins when you find out that you’re pregnant, but it really should begin when you start trying to conceive. Pre-pregnancy care helps to ensure that your body is healthy before it creates and supports a new life.

If you are trying to conceive, we recommend taking Folic Acid, which is important in preventing birth defects and in helping the baby’s brain develop. Taking Folic Acid before you get pregnant ensures that your own body is healthy and ready to support a baby. Pay attention to your diet and eat a variety of healthy foods. Your baby receives important nutrients from you. Exercise regularly as the demands of your fetus on your body is awesome.

Pre-natal care is the first step in your pregnancy care. Once you conceive, you will have regular appointments with your doctor. Contact Women’s Health in West Bloomfield to schedule your first appointment or to come in to meet with one of our specialized obstetricians. Growing a human life is no easy task, but we’re here to help you along the way.
