Lorie Pender, CNM, NP, has dedicated more than 15 years to providing comprehensive healthcare to women. A University of Michigan alumna, she earned her nursing degree in 1999 and went on to obtain her Nurse Midwife and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner certifications in 2006.

Lorie is deeply passionate about every phase of women’s health. She views the opportunity to build lasting relationships with her patients as a true privilege. “Whatever milestone it took you to get to your appointment—whether it is finding the time, a ride, a sitter, or some courage—thank you for choosing me to help you today,” she says.

Her specialized areas of clinical expertise include:

  • Annual Well-Woman Exams: Comprehensive wellness care, including Pap smears and breast exams.
  • Vaginal Health Management: Treating infections, dryness, and pain during intercourse.
  • Contraceptive Counseling: Expert guidance and placement for birth control, including IUDs and implants.
  • Maternity Care: Supportive prenatal and postpartum care throughout pregnancy.
  • Menopause Support: Managing perimenopausal and postmenopausal symptoms—such as hot flashes, night sweats, and sleep disruptions—using both conservative lifestyle measures and Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT).

Personal Interests Outside of the clinic, Lorie is married to her high school sweetheart, and they have one son. She is an avid endurance athlete who loves running marathons and competing in triathlons. For her 39th birthday, she completed a full-length Ironman Triathlon—conquering a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike ride, and a 26.2-mile run.
