Some of our patients experience painful periods that last for an extended period. For those severe cases, we offer a solution called Cryoablation Endometrial Ablation. Cryoablation is a simple procedure done in the office without anesthesia. The process works by cooling the uterus and lasts for about 30 minutes with no restrictions after the fact.

The goal of the surgery is to reduce bleeding and the duration of the period. The surgery has a very high success rate, and most patients report little discomfort during and after the procedure.

Cryoablation is not suitable for everyone and is not recommended for those with an IUD, an infection of the uterus, or vaginal inflammation. If you think you are a candidate for Cyroablation, begin discussions with your doctor surrounding your period symptoms. You and your doctor can work alongside one another to develop and plan and determine if the procedure is a good option for you.
